    good brown rice

While the higher protein is nice, I much prefer short-grain brown rice, which they do not sell. In any case, this is a good company with good customer service. They care for the land, although they are not quite organic. They test for heavy metals, which I appreciate especially for arsenic.

    Wonderful Rice!

I’ve been eating Cahokia brown rice every day for a couple of months and I love it! As a pre-diabetic, this rice gives me a source of healthy carbohydrates in combination with higher protein that does not spike my blood sugar. It’s versatile and I eat it along with many different food combinations. So grateful that this varietal was developed and cultivated. THANK YOU!!!

    Great flavor and texture

This is a high quality rice. It maintained a firm texture even after sitting longer in the rice cooker than intended. Flavor is clean and fresh with no off-flavors or odors. I will definitely buy it again when my current stock gets low. The glycemic index specified in the FAQ is actually lower than that of brown basmati, and it tastes a lot better and is much fresher than the brown basmati I get at the Asian markets. I am glad I can support this rice grower in my home state.

I like everything abiut this rice. It's grown in my home state if Illinois, so it's relatively local. Grown sustainably without toxins. Free of heavy metals. Very clean, doesn't need to be rinsed prior to cooking. That's a big plus for someone wirh weak or disabled hands. Cooks up beautifully in my slow cooker. THX!
