Does the high protein rice cook differently than regular rice?
Our Higher Protein Rice cooks pretty much just like any other long grain rice! Many people find a 1:1 ratio for white rice (1 cup water/1 cup rice) and a 1.5:1 (1.5 cups water/1 cup rice) ratio for brown rice works best. We have found that everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to how they like their rice...some of us like rice to be more dry and others prefer a stickier consistency. So test it out with your regular cooking method, or simply follow the directions on the bag and then adjust to your personal preference as you go.
Can I cook the high protein rice in a rice cooker?
Absolutely! Our Higher Protein Rice cooks just like any other long grain rice, so feel free to use the same rice cooker method that you use with regular rice. Similar to stovetop cooking, many people find a 1:1 ratio for white rice (1 cup water/1 cup rice) and a 1.5:1 (1.5 cups water/1 cup rice) ratio for brown rice works best. Sometimes a little more water is required with rice cookers or instant pots, so we recommend doing whatever you normally do with your particular brand of cooker, then adjusting to taste as you see fit.
